ARKANSAS
ANIMAL WELFARE
ALLIANCE
If you are on social media, you have probably seen the desperate pleas for help with re-homing a pet, a litter of puppies found in a box on the highway, a litter of kittens covered in fleas and ticks, or a perfectly healthy dog on a kill list simply because there is no room for her in a shelter. Scrolling past the suffering is easy—but the suffering still exists, and it exists much too close to home.
Rescues, animal shelters, and animal welfare volunteers are exhausted. We do not have enough shelters, fosters, or resources to keep up with the ever-growing problem of animal overpopulation. We are scooping out water from a sinking ship.
We need your help.
Arkansas Animal Welfare Alliance (AAWA) is a 501(c)4 nonprofit organization of passionate volunteers striving for lasting change by advocating for enforceable laws and legislation for animal welfare. We strive to increase funding for spaying and neutering programs, advocate for improved regulations, discourage irresponsible breeding, and partner with city and local governments. to improve animal welfare across the state.
